ABOUT THE EVENT

The 24 Hour Charity Dinghy Race is an annual event run by the club, key sponsors, local businesses, charities, members, sailors and schools for the benefit of local charities. It's a true community event, raising over $12.3 Million Hong Kong Dollars since its inception in 2002.

The onshore race village with live entertainment and other attractions means a large number of visitors come to try out water sports, have a drink, get some food and enjoy the carnival atmosphere.

The Race

Sailors of all ages and skill levels race in teams to complete the most laps in 24 hours around a 1.2km course in Shelter Cove, Sai Kung with stops to change crews at intervals throughout the race. The event boasts as being the ONLY and LONGEST running 24 hour endurance aquathon in Hong Kong and South East Asia. 

The Course

The course will be set immediately south of the Club's marina pontoons. The course length will be slightly less than 1 nautical mile and will be starboard rounding. The start will be between the anchored committee boat and a buoy near the pontoon and approximately at right angles to the course.
